Turtle Population Study

During my General Ecology course, I had the privilege to work on an ongoing project of estimating turtle populations at the Duck Pond in Keene, Texas. Attached to the right is the laboratory report showing the process of experimentation that we employed. Our results were added to a pool of data that is helping to keep track of the turtle populations. I plan to integrate experimentation and field work into my teaching by working with local wildlife agencies. This shows curriculum mastery because I understand the scientific process and I am able to apply it in real life. By doing these activities with my students, and also continuing to keep up with current scientific advancements and papers, I will continue to master this aspect of science so that I can help my students master it also.
