Conclusion of Teacher Education

While I may be finishing up my participation in the teacher education program, I will never truly stop learning. That is one of the greatest joys I have found through my student teaching. Each and every day I was challenged to learn something new. Outside of the continued learning, I had so many other incredible experiences in this program that have shaped me as a future teacher, as a father, as a husband, and just as a human being.

One of the first education classes I took was Educational Technology. This class hooked me from the very start. In fact, I loved every minute of it so much that I decided to eventually pursue a Masters in Educational Technology. Another class that has really stuck with me is Exceptional Children. This class opened my eyes to the entire world of education, not just the general classroom. I guess you could say that it broadened my perspective. The other class that I very much enjoyed was Bible Study Methods. Since I took this class at the same time that I student taught, I was able to integrate much of what I learned into my worship thoughts at the beginning of each class period at Chisholm Trail Academy. I found that I have a true passion for sharing and explaining God's love to those around me.

The creating of this e-portfolio has been a personal blessing for me. I was able to self-reflect and grow through this process. It has reminded me just how awesome, powerful, and wonderful my God is. If you had asked me five years ago where I would've been by now I definitely wouldn't have said that I was going to be a science teacher, yet God still knew all along. He is the one who has led me here. Creating this portfolio has reminded me to keep trusting Him and to place my future in His hands.
